Collecting Hair Samples

We only need a few hairs. The best thing is that you take it at the root. You can easily do this by running a brush through your hair, we can test any type of body hair.

Place the hair on a sheet of paper.

Do this for each person in your test, take a separate paper for each person.

Fold The Paper

If you have folded the paper in half, your hair will be well closed. Do this for each hair sample. This way, you guarantee that every hair stays with the right person. Take 2 sheets of paper for a duo test and 3 or 4 for a family test.

Write per hair sample on the folded paper in legible capital letters.

Clearly write your name, order number and email on the samples on the designated sticker to identify which sample belongs to whom.

Each sample should be identified as follows:

(IN CLEAR, READABLE CAPITAL LETTERS)

  • MYGUTHARMONY
  • FULL NAME
  • EMAIL
  • ORDER NUMBER

Your order number has a prefix of MGH- followed by a number of digits. For example MGH-00123. You can find this correct number in your email or in your account.

Repeat this step for all persons in the test.

Duo tests needs two zipper bags, a couple test must contain four zipper bags.
This way, samples are correctly labeling and prevents mix-ups in the laboratory. 99% of sample mix-ups are due to wrong or incorrect labeling. Be a good customer. Thank you.

Left with one side and right with the other side. Deliver the cotton swab with the oral mucosa separately packed in a closed sandwich bag, a ziplock bag or something else that can be closed.

Do this for each sample. This way, you guarantee that every sample stays with the right person. So 2 ziplock bags for a duo test and 3 or 4 for a family test.

How to correctly submit your samples to the post office

Collect all samples and put them in a padded envelope. We prefer all samples for each person in the test to be submitted in one single envelope.

Please bring your samples to the post office and pay for the proper postage with a tracking code. This is required to track proof of delivery or when samples get lost during transit. Without a tracking code, it is impossible to verify the delivery of your samples.

Send the envelope to:
